Poha Chiwra Recipe: A Flavourful Delight

Poha Chiwra is a beloved Indian snack known for its crispy texture and savory taste. It’s perfect for munching on lazy afternoons or as a delightful addition to festive spreads. Here’s a simple recipe to make Poha Chiwra at home:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups thin Poha (flattened rice)
  • 1/2 cup peanuts
  • 1/4 cup roasted chana dal (split chickpeas)
  • 1/4 cup dried coconut slices
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: Raisins for sweetness and chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions for prepare to Poha Chiwra:

  1. Preparation: Dry roast the peanuts in a pan until they turn golden brown and crunchy. Set them aside. Similarly, roast the chana dal until it’s crisp and golden. Keep aside.
